Morocco (officially the Kingdom of Morocco), is a country in northern Africa on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, the Street of Gibraltar and the Atlantic Ocean. Morocco is a monarchy that has been under the rule of Mohammed VI (the king) since 23 July 1999. The country has an area of 446,550 km² of which 250 km² is water.
The economy of Morocco is considered a free market economy, governed by supply and demand. However, some economic sectors are in the hands of the government. France and Spain are Morocco's largest trading partners (for import and export). France is the largest foreign investor in the country.
Morocco exports a lot of vegetables, fruit and fish to Europe. It has the largest catch of sardine in the world. In addition, the country exports argan oil, which is only produced in Morocco.
